Key Club Sponsorship Update

To the Amazing People of Barnesville,

At the end of last year, I floated an idea to help Barnesville’s Key Club by reaching out to local people, organizations, and businesses to sponsor a Key Club Member’s International dues.

Barnesville High School’s Key Club, under the leadership of their advisor Corey Powell, has slowly and steadily grown over the years. The last number I heard for this year’s count is around 180 students. With Key Club International dues nearly $10 a year per student, the total cost adds up fast.

So, we set up an online donation portal and sent messages to members of our community to see if anyone would be interested in helping out. We didn’t know what the response would be, but knew that every dollar would help.

And the people of Barnesville knocked it out of the park.

With the help of this fantastic town and the people who live here, we have raised enough money to cover every penny of Key Club International dues for every member of this year’s Key Club.

Every penny.

Anyone who lives here knows how wonderful Barnesville is and how willing we are to help each other out. But, I have to admit, I never imagined the community would step up quite like this.
